Weekend Scholarship Watch - June 20

Amount: $600 total ($300 per semester and 2 awards)

Eligibility: Incoming college freshman currently or formerly in foster care.

Requirements: Completed application, 500–750-word essay on resilience, proof of foster care status, and proof of college acceptance.

Deadline: June 20, 2026.

 

Amount: $10,000 

Eligibility: Students enrolled for the 2026–2027 academic year at a 2- or 4-year college with a minimum 3.0 GPA including entering freshman.

Requirements: Unofficial transcript, resume, personal statement (350–500 words), writing assignment, and letter of recommendation.

Deadline: June 20, 2026.

 

Amount: Up to $1,000

Eligibility: Open to students from grade 3 through age 25, including high school seniors. Requirements: Submit an original environmental film. Most entries must be 3 to 8 minutes. For grade 11 and younger, films should be solution-based on topics like climate, energy, food, transportation, waste, water, or wildlife/ecosystems.

Deadline: June 25, 2026

 

Amount: $1,000

Eligibility: Open to high school seniors, undergraduates, or graduate students in Texas or Florida with a 3.0 GPA or higher who are pursuing healthcare or engineering.

Requirements: A 300–500-word essay answering one of two prompts about legacy/inspiration and your future impact in medicine or engineering.

Deadline: June 26, 2026.

 

Amount: $500-$1,500 (Many)

Eligibility: DFW/Texas-specific. Open to U.S. citizens or legal residents who are high school seniors with at least a 2.5 GPA, entering college in Fall 2026, and accepted into an ABET-accredited engineering program.

Requirements: Completed application, proof of eligibility, essay, two recommendations, official transcript, and SAT or ACT scores.

Deadline: June 26, 2026.

 

Amount: $2,500

Eligibility: Open to high school seniors planning a career in general aviation who are enrolled in or accepted into an aviation-related program at an accredited college or university.

Requirements: Application, high school transcript, letter of recommendation, college acceptance letter, and a personal statement covering aviation goals, education plan, flight training goals, and why you should be selected.

Deadline: June 26, 2026 

 

Amount: $12,000 (50 Awards)

Eligibility: Open to graduating U.S. high school seniors entering a 4-year accredited U.S. college/university in Fall 2026 who are of Hellenic descent and/or Greek Orthodox faith and are parish members.

Requirements: Application packet with official transcript, testing records if applicable, baptismal/chrismation certificate, essay responses, and two recommendation letters.

Deadline: June 26, 2026

 

Amount: Up to $5,000 (Many)

Eligibility: Open to U.S. citizens age 18+ who submit original work individually or in teams.

Requirements: Create and submit a 1–5-minute MP4 video on how Public Law 119-21 affects your life/community in one of the listed categories (student loans, taxes, health/SNAP/Medicaid, immigration, climate/energy).
