Weekend Scholarship Watch - May 16th

Amount: $500.

Eligibility: Students who are interested in DIY projects, such as fixing broken items or building new creations, in honor of National Do It Yourself (DIY) Day.

Requirements: Application form.

Deadline: May 16, 2026.

 

Amount: $500 (awarded monthly).

Eligibility: High school, college/university, or graduate students with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0. Must be a citizen, permanent resident, or hold an active F1 I-20 or J1 DS-2019 in the U.S. or Canada. Must have designed an innovative project that makes a difference in the lives of others.

Requirements: Essay describing the goal of the project and supporting documentation, letter of recommendation, and a photo

Deadline: May 20, 2026.

 

Amount: $2,100 (2 winners, $1,050 each).

Eligibility: Any Christian high school senior planning to attend a two or four-year university. Must have speech or debate experience as well as experience with a Christian forensics organization.

Requirements: Essay on how work with speech and debate has prepared you to share Christian faith.

Deadline: May 20, 2026.

 

Amount: Four $1,500 scholarships.

Eligibility: Students currently attending or planning to attend an HBCU, majoring in education/elementary education OR a current member of their institution’s band, with a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Requirements: Proof of 90+ community service hours, proof of enrollment/transcript. Essay (minimum 500 words) about a teacher's impact.

Deadline: May 23, 2026.

 

Amount: A $50 cash award and a $50 donation in the student’s name to the Spirit of Youth Scholarship Fund or the Children of Warriors National Presidents’ Scholarship Fund.

Eligibility: Students in grades 3 to 12. The current theme is “Celebrating America’s 250th Birthday and the Veterans who Fought for Our Freedom”.

Requirements: An original essay (word count requirements vary by grade level, ranging from 150-250 words for younger grades to 450-500 words for older grades.

Deadline: April 15, 2026

 

Amount: $1,000.

Eligibility: Must be a cancer survivor or current patient. Must be between the ages of 18-35 (with an exception for 17-year-olds entering college in the fall following application). Must be a US citizen or permanent resident. Must be attending or planning to attend an accredited college, university, or vocational institution in pursuit of an associate, bachelor, master’s, doctorate, or certificate.

Requirements: Applicants are evaluated based on displaying a “Will Win” attitude, quality of essays, financial need, overall story of cancer survivorship, commitment to education, and quality of recommendations.

Deadline: May 22, 2026.

 

Amount: $1,000.

Eligibility: Must have lost a parent or guardian to cancer. Must be between the ages of 18-35 (with an exception for 17-year-olds entering college). Must be a US citizen or permanent resident. Must be attending or planning to attend an accredited college, university, or vocational institution in pursuit of an associate, bachelor, master’s, doctorate, or certificate.

Requirements: Applicants are evaluated based on Journey, Encouragement, Financial need, Notable Accomplishments, and Quality of recommendations.

Deadline: May 22, 2026.

 

Amount: Varies by scholarship, as awards range in amount and academic interests.

Eligibility: Applicants must be currently enrolled full-time or accepted to an accredited college or university in the U.S.. Must be a graduating high school senior, undergraduate student, or graduate student for applicable scholarships. Requires a GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 system.

Requirements: Required materials include personal and demographic information, college name, intended major, FAFSA Submission Summary, GPA information, ACT/SAT scores (if applicable), a list of honors, activities, and volunteer work, transcripts, a professional headshot, and a resume. Specific scholarship guidelines for each program are also available.
