Weekend Scholarship Watch - July 11

Amount: $3,500 total; 3 winners: 1st $2,000, 2nd $1,000, 3rd $500

Eligibility: U.S. high school junior or senior in Fall 2026-Spring 2027; Spring/Summer 2026 graduates are not eligible. Must identify as Black/African-American, Native American, or Latinx-American; have a minimum 2.5 GPA; and be interested in healthcare.

Requirements: Submit the official application with short essay responses about inspiration, intentional action, and personal character; semi-finalists may complete a virtual interview, and finalists enter a public voting round.

Deadline: July 12, 2026


Amount: $2,000; 1 winner for Fall 2026

Eligibility: Student in good standing enrolled at an accredited college or university with a declared STEM major; open to international students. A high school senior may qualify as an incoming university student with proof of acceptance.

Requirements: Submit completed application form, most recent transcript; incoming or transfer students should submit a letter of acceptance or equivalent proof of future enrollment.

Deadline: July 13, 2026


Amount: Up to $10,000; number of winners varies

Eligibility: Minority students who are socially and economically disadvantaged, have a GPA above 3.0, show community/workplace involvement, and are enrolled in or accepted to a U.S. college or university; open across the U.S. and its territories.

Requirements: Online application, essay, transcript, resume or activities sheet, applicant photo, proof of income/financial need, school/enrollment or acceptance information, and scholarship-specific materials if applicable.

Deadline: July 13, 2026


Amount: $1,500; 1 winner

Eligibility: Outgoing high school seniors graduating in summer 2026 or students enrolled in a college, trade school, or university as of the start of the fall 2026 semester.

Requirements: Submit an essay of 500-1,000 words with a concrete idea and actionable steps to help prevent drunk driving among teens; upload transcript or proof of enrollment.

Deadline: July 14, 2026


Amount: $1,500; 1 winner

Eligibility: High school seniors interested in studying social work, therapy, or psychology and pursuing a career in mental health or suicide prevention.

Requirements: Submit a 400-600 word essay about personal experience with loss, inspiration for entering mental health, career goals, and how the applicant hopes to make a difference in suicide prevention.

Deadline: July 14, 2026

Amount: $1,000; 1 winner

Eligibility: Current high school seniors, vocational students, college students, or graduate students who are U.S. legal residents living in the 50 states or D.C., enrolled in a vocational program or two- to four-year post-secondary institution, with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Preference given to students from or attending school in Florida.

Requirements: Submit a 750-1,000 word essay about a life-altering obstacle and how you rose above it, professional resume, and transcript; high school seniors may submit proof of college/university acceptance.

Deadline: July 15, 2026


Amount: $200; 1 winner per monthly contest

Eligibility: Individuals at least 16 years old who are legal residents of one of the 50 U.S. states or the District of Columbia.

Requirements: Submit one original 200-900 word essay answering the current monthly prompt; entries may be posted for public voting, with top entries judged by clarity, creativity, originality, and sincerity.

Deadline: July 15, 2026


Amount: Department winners receive $500; 8 All-Academic Team members receive an additional $2,500, and 1 outstanding All-Academic Team member receives an additional $5,000

Eligibility: American Legion Baseball players nominated by a team manager or head coach of a post-affiliated team; recipients must graduate from an accredited high school to receive funds.

Requirements: Scholarship application, certification form, high school transcript, and three recommendation/testimonial letters submitted to department headquarters.

Deadline: July 15, 2026


Amount: $2,500; 1 winner

Eligibility: Students in good academic standing who are enrolled in or accepted to an accredited university, college, or graduate school in the United States.

Requirements: Submit the application form with either a 1-2 minute video or a 1,000-word essay about how FASD has affected you or why you are interested in FASD, and how that has shaped your future.

Deadline: July 15, 2026


Amount: $2,500; 1 winner

Eligibility: U.S. citizen or permanent resident currently enrolled in an accredited college or university in the United States; previous winners are not eligible.

Requirements: Submit application form, proof of student status, and an essay of around 2,000 words about an accident you or a loved one experienced and how you faced the aftermath.
