Meet the Graduates: FLP Class of 2024

August 15, 2024 – The Future Leaders Program is proud to announce the Class of 2024 graduates and their college selections for the fall. The 14 members of the Class of 2024 have been awarded $2.5 million in awards and scholarships.

FLP Class of 2024:

Sergio Carreno graduated from the School of Science and Engineering (SEM) at Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Center and will attend Johns Hopkins University. He plans to major in Biology and Philosophy on a Pre-Med track.
Alina Fuentes graduated from Irma Lerma Rangel Young Women’s Leadership School and will attend St. Edward's University. She plans to major in Engineering.
Hussein Hirsi graduated from Barack Obama Male Leadership Academy and will attend Whitman College with plans to major in Computer Science.
Diego Jimenez graduated from Barack Obama Male Leadership Academy and will attend St. John’s University. He plans to major in Business.
Courtland Johnson graduated from Barack Obama Male Leadership Academy and will attend Southern Methodist University. He plans to major in Electrical Engineering on a Pre-Med track.
Carlos Perez graduated from the School of Science and Engineering (SEM) at Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Center and will attend Texas A&M University. He plans to major in Manufacturing Engineering Technologies.
Aziah Punch graduated from South Oak Cliff High School and will attend the University of North Texas with plans to major in Psychology.
Daisy Retana graduated from Irma Lerma Rangel Young Women’s Leadership School and will attend Case Western Reserve University with plans to major in Nursing.
Emily Salazar graduated from the School of Science and Engineering (SEM) at Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Center and will attend Texas A&M University. She plans to major in Chemical Engineering.
Amy Sanchez graduated from Judge Barefoot Sanders Law Magnet at Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Center and will attend Southern Methodist University. She plans to major in Business Administration/Marketing.
Marcus Shelton graduated from Barack Obama Male Leadership Academy and will attend Southern Methodist University. He plans to major in Electrical Engineering.
Benyat (Ben) Simmons graduated from Barack Obama Male Leadership Academy and will attend Prairie View A&M University. He plans to major in Nursing.
Paola Vargas graduated from Irma Lerma Rangel Young Women’s Leadership School and will attend Southern Methodist University. She plans to major in Marketing and Sports Management.
Lola West graduated from the School for the Talented and Gifted at Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Center and will attend Smith College with plans to major in Anthropology.
