FLP Director of Programs Joins Northwestern University Counselor Advisory Board

February 28, 2024 – FLP Director of Programs Rosie De La Garza has been selected to join Northwestern University’s Counselor Advisory Board (CAB), which aims to support underrepresented student populations and guide their college admissions process.

The board consists of 16 members from various educational backgrounds. It was created to help students have greater opportunities to attend higher education institutions such as Northwestern.

Shortly after being selected, De La Garza attended the inaugural Northwestern University CAB Access Conference, which was held on the university’s campus in Evanston, Illinois. During this time, De La Garza attended sessions discussing recruitment and access, as well as the admissions process and affordability.

While on campus, De La Garza also met with FLP Class of 2023 alumni and Northwestern undergraduate students Erica Salazar and Raul Lopez. Salazar is studying Political Science and Social Policy, and Lopez is studying Neuroscience.
