Leadership Development

Future Leaders are given the opportunity to meet regularly with the leaders of today – business executives, politicians, authors, and scholars. Past FLP speakers include Steve Pemberton, Walgreens Chief Diversity Officer; Ted Strickland, former Ohio Governor and candidate for U.S. Senate; the Hon. Justice Eva Guzman, Texas Supreme Court; the Hon. David Dinkins, former Mayor of New York; the Hon. Justice Wallace Jefferson, former member, Texas State Supreme Court; the Hon. Tom Leppert, former Mayor of Dallas; and author Nando Parrado.

The FLP also offers its students a diverse mix of cultural and enrichment activities. Students have visited attractions in New York City such as Rockefeller Center, Broadway, and the Statue of Liberty. In Dallas/Fort Worth they have toured the Dallas Museum of Art, the United States Bureau of Engraving and Printing, the Bass Performance Hall, and the Kimbell Art Museum.
